The College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on "Laboratory Safety: Foundations and Safe Working Practices in Laboratories".  

The seminar aimed to highlight laboratory safety as one of the most important foundations that must be adhered to inside scientific, medical, and research laboratories, with the goal of protecting workers, students, and the environment from potential risks, as well as providing a safe and organized work environment and improving the quality of work and laboratory results.

The seminar, presented by instructors Anwar Nuri Ayoub and Hind Adnan Nuri, included an introduction to the main sources of risk inside the laboratory (such as chemical, biological, physical, equipment, and fire hazards), emphasizing the necessity of reading safety instructions. It also stressed that laboratory safety is a shared responsibility and that continuous training and risk awareness are among the most important factors in preventing accidents.

The seminar recommended the necessity of adhering to laboratory safety instructions and intensifying continuous training courses for students and workers to prevent accidents and improve the quality of work and results.
